Constipation in Children and Young People

Constipation in Children and Young People

Constipation is very  common.  It  affects about 1 in 3 children and is a cause of discomfort for children. If not managed appropriately, it has the potential to lead to more challenging symptoms including painful defecation, bleeding, abdominal pain  and soiling. Symptoms that may have a devastating impact on the child’s confidence and education.

Here at Moor Park Paediatric Practice, we will work with you and your child  in the comfort of your own home ,  at school or  in hospital and with a range of children specialists to help resolve this condition.

This user-friendly version of the UK NICE Guidance highlights some of the ways a child is assessed and treated. We will offer more care if this is what is needed.
